About the Program:
Team Nitro MMA SEALTeam operates to provide high-quality afterschool and summer programming for students in grades K–12. Our mission emphasizes Social, Emotional, Academic, and Leadership (SEAL) development through a dynamic blend of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training, academic support, enrichment activities, mentorship, and personal growth opportunities. Our strong focus on MMA as a tool for discipline, confidence, and leadership uniquely sets us apart from other programs in the city.
Position Summary:
Youth Enrichment – Classroom Leaders are responsible for leading a grade-level group of students through daily academic and enrichment rotations during our summer camp. This role involves lesson preparation, active supervision, academic reinforcement, and intentional facilitation of activities that promote SEAL competencies. Facilitators are expected to create an engaging, structured, and supportive learning environment aligned with our program’s mission.
This is a contracted position for the summer program; however, there is an opportunity for continued part-time employment for the 2025–2026 after-school program year based on performance and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead grade-level student groups through daily rotations including academic sessions and creative enrichment activities
- Arrive prepared with developmentally appropriate lessons, materials, and engagement strategies
- Take daily attendance and maintain a clear rotation schedule
- Plan and facilitate activities that foster social, emotional, academic, and leadership development
- Ensure consistent supervision, safety, and engagement of all students
- Complete daily documentation including success highlights, behavioral notes, and opportunities for student growth in an exit summary tracker
- Collaborate with fellow staff and program leaders to support a positive and productive camp culture
- Model professionalism, respect, and the SEALTeam core values at all times
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or degree in education, child development, or related field preferred
- Experience working with children or youth in educational, recreational, or mentorship settings
- Strong classroom or group management skills and ability to lead with intention and enthusiasm
- Ability to plan and adapt activities for diverse age groups (K–12)
- Must pass a Level 2 background screening prior to employment
- DCF 40 Hours (if not complete, must be started prior to first day of employment)

The Youth Engagement – Classroom and Site Assistant provides vital behind-the-scenes and in-classroom support to help ensure smooth daily operations during summer programming. This role does not serve as a lead instructor but plays a key part in assisting with student transitions, classroom support, and general site duties such as organizing supplies, distributing materials, and helping with snack or meal procedures. Flexibility and a team-first attitude are essential.
This is a contracted position for the summer program; however, there is an opportunity for continued part-time employment for the 2025–2026 after-school program year based on performance and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom assistance to support facilitators and instructors during student rotations
- Assist with daily routines including snack/lunch distribution, cleanup, and hallway transitions
- Support site organization needs such as making copies, stapling, sorting papers, or prepping materials
- Help manage student behavior through positive reinforcement and presence
- Float between classrooms or areas as needed to provide supervision and support
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment aligned with SEALTeam values
- Follow direction from program leaders and site coordinators for task assignments
- Assist with attendance tracking or incident documentation if requested
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience working or volunteering with youth preferred
- Flexible, dependable, and comfortable in a support role (not leading instruction)
- Friendly and professional demeanor; able to work across all grade levels (K–12)
- Must pass a Level 2 background screening prior to employment
- Completion of Florida DCF 40-hour training is a plus
